P8

"Beautiful decay" was a texture exercise, this was actually pretty fun, for this exercise I used leaves that were on the ground right outside the classroom, they had to be washed and dried to ensure proper adhesion to the gel media/color, I finish the physical part of the project trying to use the least amount of media so the leaves don't won't loose "realism" after that I started to paint the actual leaves, then the background, thanks go to Mrs. English for giving me the tip of giving the leaves an actual perimeter line which added much definition needed to the project. Very fun & messy, but I think that if you are not dirty at the end  of your works, you are not trying hard enough. (Yes, it is tilted 45 degrees on purpose).

Simulated texture: Here I was just being silly, the board had a very light coat of gesso allowing for the grain of the wood to barely show, then the colors were applied by dripping water down acrylics and the blowing air from the red sun area towards the opposite sides, the fungi was done by using a sea sponge with a mixture of the the base color and white plus what ever residue was left from other colors. I like the color eating fungi, if there is such a thing.
